When just testing the water, I used Derwent Watercolour pencils and
some cheap brushes. Coming from Yorkshire, I didn’t want to waste money
on something I didn’t know I would like, or was any good at.
When I was hooked, I invested in the following:-
Paints are Winsor & Newton Cotman series
Brushes are Winsor & Newton Cotman range (3 brushes - 3/4” flat,
No. 8 round, No. 3 rigger)
Paper is Baohong Academy, 100% cotton, 300g/m^2, rough (where I live
at the moment, all the good Western papers are ridiculously expensive).
Anyway, this Baohong paper is actually quite good. One day, when I’m
good enough, I’ll treat myself to St Cuthbert’s Mill paper.
