The phrase “miserable old git” was coined by a dear old friend’s daughter during one of our many drunken sessions, in his den listening to music. Well, my friend has sadly died, but the term has stuck.
Even my lovely wife will sometimes jokingly refer to me as “a miserable old git” when I have the urge to have a whinge. Believe me, because English is not her first language, it is often vocalized in a rather funny manner.
My friend has gone, it looks like I just have you now? If you are willing to listen/read (though the conversation might be a bit one-sided). ;-)
