Well, well, Musk has caved into to Brazilian demands.
What a surprise (not)!
I have never been a fan of twitter, too many mean-spirited idiots who are wrapped-up in their own self importance, believing they have the right to say whatever they like, whenever they like.
Hated it even more so when Musk got involved!
And then, to rub my face in it, the blasted system was renamed after my beloved X windowing system!
What is it with these billionaires?
Surely, being the boss of a (powerful) medium he should exercise some restraint, dare I say it, professionalism, courtesy, and class.
Qualities he has yet to display - I might add.
I think it’s funny what Brazil has done. I wish other states would do the same, to put people like him in their place.
You can’t have a boss of a foreign company criticising in the way that Musk does to another foreign state, let alone a Court of a sovereign state.
Show some respect!
It would be a different matter, make my words, if it was owned by say another country. The US Government would be down on it like a ton of bricks (just look at Tik Tok if you don’t believe me), but because it’s American, they won’t even blink.
Musk always cites “freedom of speech” in attempt to justify his means. He doesn’t even know the meaning, if he did, he would behave more appropriately. All he’s in it for is the loudness of his OWN voice. Nothing more nothing less!
To have freedom of speech, one has to show respect. It’s knowing when to listen. When to bite your lip, and not say anything. Listen carefully, and then thoughtfully reply. After all, it’s a two-way form of social intercourse.
Above all, to have freedom of speech one has to have responsibility for it said and done. Most of these individuals don’t, they hide behind mechanisms (legal/financial) so they are shielded from their misdemeanours. The injustice of it all is breathtaking.
They have no honour! And so, no credibility.u
The irony of it all is that most Americans don’t even understand what freedom truly means. They go on pontificating about it as though they own it or invented freedom, yet they don’t, and they most certainly did not!
