In myyyyyy day, we used HTML 1.0, and we liked it! We loved it!
Personally, my favorite was HTML 4 / XHTML 1.0, but consistency is too hard for most people, so HTML 5 went in a different direction. Now the web is mostly a dumpster fire full of flaming piles of JavaScript.
