Collection of random brainwaves written down in haste and without any effort. Mostly about linux, *bsd or programming.
It found my way into the magical world of IT in the mid 90s. I went for the technical adventure without hesitation and quickly found all the wonderful rabbit holes one could explore. Every day, and night, would mean exciting challenges ranging from code to recompiling that kernel or trying my hands on a new operating system.
That magic feeling would stay for many many years. Even when working as a developer I would find magic in moments in my spare time. Would code on projects and have grand dreams.
About 12 years ago I had my first child. Since then I’ve had the honor of greeting two more into this world. It’s stating the obvious when I say that hobbies wasn’t as highly prioritized.
Work has also shifted a lot since some years back. It’s now 100% around managerial tasks rather than any form of technical.
And so, I kinda find myself missing the exciting adventures I used to have. Running Tilde.guru has been a small attempt at getting back to actually doing something, being somewhat productive. But I want more. I want to code more and I want to do it “old school” - a.k.a without AI.
Writing this post is an attempt at starting to write more, and through that find more motivation.
Wish me luck :-)
